Ghella Publishes its first Sustainability Report

Ghella has published its first corporate Sustainability Report, accounting for the environmental and social performance of the company during the year 2019.

The document has been written in accordance with the GRI Standard (Global Reporting Initiative) and has been externally certified. The voluntary nature of this effort is testimony to the company drive for transparency and its commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The Report describes the commitments made by the Company in relation to sustainability and how these align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Agenda 2030. Consolidated data from the most representative worksites are presented alongside a set of case studies on specific initiatives and interviews to a selection of our professionals.

The 13 topics covered in the Report were selected following a consultation process involving internal and external stakeholders.

“It’s the first time that Ghella tells its story through a Sustainability Report”, says Federico Ghella, Deputy Chairman. “This is an important milestone in our sustainability journey, that we regard as a central aspect of our corporate strategy. This work provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue and it will continue to do so in the future. The work of each of us must generate a positive and measurable impulse: this Report represents at the same time an achievement and a beginning, a baseline against which to measure our future progress. We shall continue to focus on the continuous improvement of our performance, in line with our vision to leave a better world to future generations”.

In order to allow a wide distribution with a low environmental footprint, our Sustainability Report is available online at https://www.ghella.com/en/sustainabilityreport.
